Nerdy Girl VS The Monitor

I write to you know with a bruised breast bone but happily in front of my new 24" monitor! Well, more on that later.

Last Wednesday after work I jetted off to Eastern Washington to spend a few days at my moms so I could visit my family. I took Thurs, Fri, and Monday off the work and the weekend off from the film. I am one who loves to stay busy, but I do need to recoup my strength every once in awhile.

It was nice, let me tell you. I could have spent a few more days since most of Monday was spent driving back over the pass. It was so nice to be able to go to the store with ZERO traffic. The only annoyance was the tourist here and there who would be mindlessly licking an ice cream cone while driving 15 in a 30 MPH zone. Small price to pay I guess. Because it was that time of the month (TMI anyone?), I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to swim...but thanks to some lead bitch who is throwing me off (which IS possible on the pill) I started a little early and ended early...YAY! I don't remember if it was Thursday or Friday, but one of those days was when I hit the beach. Not for too long, but it was long enough to enjoy some sun (which we don't get very much of in Seattle) and get a surprisingly good work out from the swim.

Saturday my mom and I went to Spokane to watch Harry Potter. We had wanted to go to Costco and Red Lobster after wards so we picked the earliest showing (11:30) and still got out of the mall after 2! I didn't think the movie was going to be that long and it sure didn't seem like it was...which is a good thing I guess. After going to Costco and hitting up all the free food samples I could, I still had enough room for Red Lobster. Now this may sound sad, but back when I was still living at home the nearest Red Lobster was in Coeur d'Alene Idaho and now they have a new one across from the mall in Spokane. YAY!!!!!

I also got to pack up a nifty new widescreen monitor my mom and dad got me for an early present. I was so excited to get it hooked up I forwent food when I got back to Seattle to set it up...and some caution. As my Lean Cuisine was beeping in the microwave, I excitedly snapped the huge stem (about the size of a smell tree trunk!) of the monitor into the base and snapped it together...but was unsure of the sturdiness until I heard another click. It was then I noticed a little sliding type switch at the base with an arrow pointing in the opposite direction of where the switch was. I assumed it was to finish locking the stem (where the monitor is hooked on to) to the base...I assumed wrong. Placing the base onto my coffee table and hovering over the stem, I used the back end of the hammer to pull the switch. To my surprise, the stem shot up right into my breast bone, nearly knocking the wind out of me. Of course, my first thought was, "OH SHIT INTERNAL BLEEDING!" But after finishing setting it up and having some dinner, I was sore but I started to think I was going to live. I decided to watch some It's Always Sunny and Heroes on Hulu to test out my new monitor...and it looked good!

So after a long day of traveling, I settled into my bed, still a tiny bit afraid I would bleed during the night and die....I did not, but I sure the hell had a horrid dream. I don't get it-I can watch a very gory horror film and fall asleep to it peacefully (complete with the sounds of torture and flesh hacking) but Harry Potter gave me a nightmare...well it just wasn't Harry Potter. It was a mix between Harry Potter, Heroes, and The Sopranos to be exact. I guess that just proves how nerdy I really am. You know how in dreams to things can be happening at once and still seem normal? I was Harry Potter/Claire hiding from Voldemort/Sylar. I remember hiding in what sorta resembled my moms place but instead of curtains along all the windows that run a long 3 of the walls, there were shades. My mom and someone else were trying to help me hide from Voldemort/Sylar. I knew we all had some sort of power, and what ever power I had hadn't finally been realized yet so they needed to keep me away from the badie. They were hoping for my guardian (who for whatever happened to be Silvio (Steven Van Zandt) to show up because if I was around him, I would be safe from Voldemort/Sylar. WTF? Then I realized not only did my family and friends have superpowers...but we were in the mafia...

I was scared shitless just waiting for Voldemort/ ok let's come up with a better name...Volar! I was just waiting for Volar to come at any moment and I knew if he found me, there wouldn't be much I could do. Then the blinds started to open and my mom rushed in, knowing it was Volar. No, it was my dad. So anyways they were trying to rush me away telling me I needed to find whoever Silvio was and giving me instructions as to what I needed to do next to defeat Volar. And there you have it. I am the biggest nerd out there. I awoke at 3 am in a cold sweat not sure of where I was or if I was still dreaming.

In other news, the plants I was just sure was going to die after my extended weekend where just as perky as ever!
